Meet the team

Carefully selected, consistently caring.

Every Pocket Doula Care doula is carefully selected, not only for experience, but for the way they care for people.

We believe exceptional care begins with communication, compassion, and consistency. Every member of our team shares the same commitment to helping families feel safe, heard, supported, respected, confident, and reassured.

While each doula brings unique strengths and experiences, every family can expect the same thoughtful standard of care that defines Pocket Doula Care.

Founder & Lead Doula

Vanessa

Vanessa founded Pocket Doula Care after more than a decade supporting families through pregnancy, birth, newborn care, feeding, recovery, and the fourth trimester.

A graduate in Family & Human Development, Air Force veteran, and former Head Start Home Visitor, she brings a unique blend of education, experience, and calm, evidence-informed guidance to every family she serves.

Today, Vanessa continues to attend births while mentoring every doula on the Pocket Doula Care team, helping ensure families receive the same thoughtful, relationship based care no matter which member of the team is by their side.

Postpartum Doula

Brontë

Brontë has called Austin home for the past four years. When she’s not supporting families, she enjoys spending time with animals, knitting, crocheting, and making jewelry.

After spending much of her life working in childcare, Brontë found a deep connection with postpartum care. She earned her Postpartum Doula Certification through Doulas of Austin and is passionate about helping families navigate the transition into life with a new baby.

As a postpartum doula, Brontë provides compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental support through practical hands-on assistance, emotional encouragement, and evidence-informed guidance. She believes the foundation of postpartum care is listening first, meeting parents, siblings, and the entire household where they are during the fourth trimester.

Whether she’s helping soothe a newborn, supporting feeding, or simply creating space for parents to rest and ask questions, Brontë’s goal is the same: to help every family feel supported, respected, and never alone as they settle into life with their new baby.

Birth & Postpartum Doula

Denisa

Denisa believes every family deserves compassionate support, thoughtful guidance, and someone who truly listens. As a certified birth and postpartum doula, she is passionate about helping families feel safe, heard, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the fourth trimester.

With a background in yoga and a deep appreciation for the connection between mind, body, and birth, Denisa brings a grounded, calming presence to every family she serves. She works alongside each family’s medical team to help parents feel informed, respected, and empowered to make the decisions that are right for them.

After birth, her focus shifts to helping families settle confidently into life with a new baby, offering practical newborn support, guidance with feeding, emotional encouragement, and care that helps parents feel rested, capable, and reassured.

When she’s not supporting families, Denisa enjoys practicing yoga and continuing her advanced yoga teacher and prenatal yoga training, bringing that same sense of balance and calm into every family’s journey.
